ADM-W400 Series Vertical Form Fill and Seal Machine (VFFS)
Australian Made For Harsh Environment
The ADM-W400 Vertical Form Fill and Seal (VFFS) Packaging machine is a solid construction for heavy applications and harsh environments. It can withstanding wet and dry areas against splashing and dust accumulation. It is used for packing mainly salads, frozen vegetables, dairy, meat and poultry applications. For increased protection against heavy wash down areas is the ADM-W400i with a higher IP rating and custom upgrade made to suit.
VFFS Innovative Features
The VFFS machine features a fully enclosed stainless steel construction and sanitary finish. At the rear of the VFFS an air expanding drum is used for quick film changeover with a supporting rack extended to hold a second changeover reel. An innovative quick lock device with only one moving part is used to lock in the new reel for fast changeover. A VSD controlled motorised drive drum is used to unwind the reel replacing mechanical clutch drives for better performance and unwind control. Also featured is the ADM-400 VFFS splice system with a film tracking sensor to locate, stop the bagger and lock in the film for quick film changeover. For first time feeding of film the ADM-W400 VFFS is designed with a smart film feed feature that overlaps and locks the idler rollers for simple film overpass and through the rollers before unlocking and separating the multiple rollers.
VFFS Precision Film Tracking
For film tracking and alignment an electro mechanical actuator is used with momentary control to position the rear rack precisely and an array sensor is mounted to continuously track the film when in auto pilot mode. This gives precision film tracking for the duration of the production run. The rack includes a spacious area for mounting thermal transfer printers up to 5″ wide for printing and a print position adjustment rollers as standard.

The ADM former is designed with 25 years experience of know how after having supplied the market with all kinds of formers for VFFS including Bosch, Rovema, Triangle, Hayssen, Robag, Matrix, Ishida, Kawashima, Ilapak and more. With a broad range of experience our new design is light, easy to change and can be custom made to include, gas flushing, mechanical spreaders, MAP kit, quadseal fit, film pleating and more.The endseal jaws caters for up to 400mm wide Flat bag finish and is torque controlled to seal with a varied force up to a massive 6000N of force for high pressure seal.
VFFS Allen Bradley Control System
The ADM-W400 VFFS control system includes an Allen-Bradley controller, Human Machine Interface and three Kinetix servo motors and drives for film pull and the endseal jaws. An integrated Motion on EtherNet/IP is used for simplified wiring and an optional remote access control for diagnosis for the next generation in remote programming technology. Other leading brand components also used include SMC pneumatics, Omron temperature controllers and Sick safety controls to AS4024 for safe guarding and monitoring performance.
