Product Handling

Chaff Breaking & Processing Solutions

Chaff breaking systems are used to process compressed hay, straw and forage material into a more manageable and consistent form for animal feed, bedding and further downstream handling. Common applications include lucerne, hay, straw, silage and mixed forage products, where controlled size reduction improves handling, mixing, bagging and transport efficiency.

ADM Packaging Automation supports agricultural producers with integrated processing and packaging solutions covering product infeed, chaff breaking, conveying, weighing, bagging and palletising. Systems are designed to handle high-volume fibrous material while maintaining reliable throughput and controlled product flow throughout the production line.

Processed chaff can be directed into bulk bags, stockfeed bags or premade packaging formats, depending on the final application and distribution requirements. ADM solutions are engineered for continuous operation in demanding agricultural environments, supporting efficient production with reduced manual handling and improved consistency.

ADM-VH2 Vibratory Hopper & Chaff Breaking System

The ADM-VH2 Vibratory Hopper is designed to efficiently break apart and separate chopped chaff, forage and fibrous agricultural products prior to weighing, bagging or further downstream processing. Combining mixing, vibration separation and conveying within a single system, the ADM-VH2 improves product consistency and material flow across agricultural packaging operations.

The system uses internal mixing blades to de-clump compacted product before transferring material across a vibratory mesh screen, allowing product separation and controlled discharge onto the integrated outfeed conveyor. Engineered with Swiss Rosta vibration mounts and a direct drive system, the machine achieves a high vibration amplitude of 25 mm with acceleration forces up to 4x gravity, supporting reliable separation of difficult fibrous material.

Featuring a 400 L hopper capacity, operators can load multiple sacks of product before securing the pneumatically operated lid. The fully programmable control system allows seamless integration into existing processing or packaging lines, supporting automated operation and controlled product handling.

Manufactured from fully stainless steel construction, the ADM-VH2 is designed for washdown environments and long-term operation in demanding agricultural applications. Built to AS4024 Category 3 safety standards, the system incorporates high-quality industrial components including SICK safety systems, Allen Bradley VFDs, Panasonic PLC controls, Motovario motors, Swiss Rosta vibration mounts and SMC pneumatics.

The ADM-VH2 Vibratory Hopper is designed for processing and conditioning chopped chaff, hay, lucerne, straw and forage products prior to weighing, bagging or further downstream handling. The system is suited to agricultural operations requiring improved product flow, separation and de-clumping of compacted fibrous material.

Common applications include feeding product into weighing systems, VFFS bagging machines, bulk bag fillers and stockfeed packaging lines. The ADM-VH2 supports efficient handling of agricultural materials within both standalone processing systems and complete automated packaging lines.

Premium Wagyu Stockfeed Processing Line

The ADM-VH2 Vibratory Hopper can be integrated into a premium stockfeed production line supplying high-quality Wagyu cattle feed blends. Products such as compressed lucerne, chopped hay, fibre blends and forage materials are loaded into the hopper where the internal mixing blades break apart compacted product prior to processing.

The vibratory mesh system separates and conditions the material, creating a more consistent and free-flowing product before transfer onto the integrated outfeed conveyor. This controlled product flow improves downstream weighing and bagging accuracy while helping maintain blend consistency across production batches.

Processed feed can then transfer into bulk bagging systems, stockfeed bags or automated palletising lines, supporting efficient handling of premium feed products destined for intensive Wagyu feeding operations. Designed for continuous agricultural production environments, the ADM-VH2 helps producers improve throughput, reduce manual handling and maintain consistent feed preparation standards.
